Group collecting old athletic shoes
DANVILLE – Don't trash those gym shoes that are a size too small and have a hole in the toe.
Schlarman High School's National Honor Society is holding a collection for old athletic shoes. The shoes will be donated to Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe program, which recycles them by turning them into material used in sports surfaces, such as basketball and tennis courts, athletic fields, running tracks and playgrounds.
