Interpreter helps keep area court cases on track
TUSCOLA – To a Spanish-speaking man or woman accused of a crime, Matt Peek could be the most important person in the courtroom.
Peek, a Champaign resident, can be key to making sure the accused receives a fair trial in court rooms in Champaign, Vermilion, Piatt and Douglas counties. He's a court interpreter and has recently been assisting with the hearings and trials of the dozen Arcola residents arrested in an alleged Arcola-based drug ring last summer.
