Jury cannot agree on man's status as sexually violent
URBANA – A hearing is scheduled for later this month to see if the state will try again to have a former Champaign man declared sexually violent. A Champaign County jury Friday could not reach a verdict in the case of Vincent Lipscomb.
Jurors deliberated about six hours Friday before telling Judge Harry Clem that they could not agree on whether Lipscomb, now 38, poses a substantial risk to reoffend.
