Farmer City looks into possible park takeover, expenses
FARMER CITY – City council members learned it may be possible to take over ownership of South Park by using eminent domain authority, but it will be costly.
City Manager Trent Smith told council members Monday that city attorneys advised him there are two places in Illinois law from which the city could draw authority to take over the park, even though it is not within city limits.
