String of car burglaries reported
CHAMPAIGN – Police in Champaign are investigating a rash of car burglaries – mostly in the campus area – involving stolen global positioning systems.
Crime Analyst Gary Spear said there have been burglaries to about 30 cars in the past month. Some involve several cars in the same parking lot or parking garage, he said.
