Convicted sex offender faces residency, registration charges
PAXTON – A man convicted of molesting an 8-year-old was arrested by Paxton police last week after he was discovered to be living across the street from a park in Paxton and later at a residence directly across from a day care center, authorities said Monday.
David O. Kentala, 58, who lists an address in rural Rantoul, was charged Thursday with two Class 3 felonies – for failing to register as a sex offender in Ford County within 10 days of moving there and for failure to comply with a state law that restricts sex offenders from residing within 500 feet of a school, park or playground.
