Bakery's bid on building rises to top

CHAMPAIGN – The smell of bagels and fresh bread will soon waft through a now-vacant building on North First Street.

Pekara Bakery won the bidding for the former Lone Star Lodge property now owned by the city, beating out proposals for a restaurant/jazz club and a minority business incubator, among others.
