Preservationists want restoration of original courthouse exterior
DANVILLE – Members of the Old Town Preservation Association want county officials to consider restoring the original sandstone brick exterior of the Vermilion County Courthouse rather than replacing the stucco facade with another covering.
Six members of the association have expressed to county officials their desire that the annex, 6 N. Vermilion St., Danville, be restored to its "beautiful sandstone" appearance when it was originally known as the Woolworth Building around the turn of the 20th century.
