Judge declares mistrial in man's weapon case
URBANA – A Champaign County jury Thursday couldn't decide if a convicted felon possessed a gun that was found in a house where he was staying.
After deliberating about five hours over whether Roland McFarland was an armed habitual criminal, the four men and eight women told Judge Tom Difanis they were deadlocked, and he declared a mistrial. Difanis continued the case until May 27.
