Public now able to provide tips through text messages
CHAMPAIGN – Champaign County Crimestoppers is already getting tips through the Internet, but tip providers can now help fight crime with a new weapon.
Champaign police Deputy Chief Troy Daniels said citizens can now use their cell phones to provide tips with text messages – with absolute assurance that they will remain anonymous.
