Ex-teacher apologizes to victims, families
BLOOMINGTON – Jon White said he has already been exposed to "daily, hourly verbal abuse" from other prison inmates at Joliet who recognize him as the teacher who sexually exploited some of his own first- and second-grade students.
Fearful, he said he stays in his cell rather than venture into the prison yard for fresh air. The 27-year-old former Urbana and Normal grade school teacher told a McLean County judge Tuesday he knows that kind of harassment goes with the territory for someone convicted of the crimes he is – aggravated criminal sexual abuse to eight young girls in Champaign County and two in McLean County.
