Not easy, but license back after snafu
URBANA – Jack Peterson has his driver's license back, and a life a little better in order, a month after he found out an old DUI had come back to bite him.
Somewhere in the virtual pathway between the Champaign County Circuit Clerk's office, the state circuit administrative headquarters and the secretary of state's office, records of about 100 hundred DUI convictions from the late 1990s were lost in the ether. That meant steep fines and a loss of driving privileges for those whose records were lost.
