Guardsmen prepare for training
DANVILLE – On the third floor of the Masonic Temple on Wednesday, more than 100 uniformed National Guard soldiers looked over a terrain model of Fort Chaffee, Ark., that spanned the auditorium.
Miniature headquarters were placed near the door. Base camps were positioned near the stage. A local village was on the outskirts. Colored tape denoted the roads and their conditions.
