Man receives 75-year sentence
URBANA – Markele Powell will be 86 years old before he's eligible for parole for the attempted murder of his former girlfriend.
"She should not have to live her life looking over her shoulder wondering when this man is going to get out and finish the job," Champaign County Judge Heidi Ladd said Monday.
