Police contract plan calls for bigger Savoy presence
SAVOY – While nothing is final, village board members seemed to agree on continuing to contract services with the Champaign County sheriff's office after board members discussed a proposed contract Wednesday.
While the current contract expired in November 2007, the sheriff's office has continued to implement the agreement. For the past several months, however, the village has been negotiating with the sheriff's office for a new contract that is expected to be implemented starting in 2009.
