Urbana panel votes against rezoning petition

URBANA – A proposal by developer Howard Wakeland to rezone nearly an entire residential block along North Lincoln Avenue should be rejected, the plan commission recommended Thursday.

Plan commission members voted 3-2 to recommend denial of Wakeland's zoning request. The petition now goes to the city council for decision on June 2.
