Vehicle hits squad car, injures officer
CHAMPAIGN – A Champaign police officer was injured when his patrol car was struck by another vehicle Thursday night.
According to a Champaign police report, Patrolman Russell Beck was sitting in his squad car on Springfield Avenue near the Randolph Street intersection at 8:48 p.m. when it was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Jessica Chambers, 22, who listed an address in Morton.
