Study: Douglas County Jail has space problems
TUSCOLA – A consulting firm's study of the Douglas County Jail points to the same conclusion that Douglas County Sheriff Charlie McGrew already knew: It's just not big enough.
The report, completed by Kimme and Associates of Champaign, urges the county to go back to keeping 18 inmates at the facility. It has bunk beds for 36 inmates, and has had a population of many more.
