Four charged after campus-area attack
URBANA – Four young men accused in a campus-area mugging and street robbery are due to return to court after being charged Monday.
Arraigned on charges of robbery and aggravated battery by Judge Richard Klaus were: Verlon Melton, 18, who listed an address in the 1100 block of East Michigan Avenue, Urbana; James Carter, 17, who listed an address in the 200 block of Nelson Court, Champaign; Darrell Roberts, 17, who listed an address in the 1700 block of Clover Lane, Champaign; and Brandon Lewis, 17, who listed an address in the 1400 block of Joanne Lane, Champaign.
