Ex-fire chief is top candidate for his old job in Champaign
CHAMPAIGN – The city's next fire chief could be a familiar name and face to longtime residents.
Douglas Forsman, who was Champaign's fire chief from 1980 to 1992, will be the only candidate interviewed Friday when he comes to town to meet with a city advisory panel. He is currently fire chief and chief administrative officer for the Union Colony Fire/Rescue Authority in Greeley, Colo., a position he's held for more than six years.
