46-year-old gets 9 1/2 years for drug conviction
URBANA – A Champaign man who described himself as a "closet" crack cocaine addict was sentenced Friday to 9½ years in prison for his first and only criminal conviction.
In May, a Champaign County jury convicted Jeff Ashworth, 46, of the 700 block of South Lynn Street, Champaign, of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance after 15.7 grams of crack cocaine and packaging materials associated with cocaine were found in his home Aug. 31, 2007.
