Bird's nest causes power outage in west part of city
CHAMPAIGN – Power was restored this morning for about 1,800 customers affected by an outage in west Champaign this morning due to a bird making its home in a substation.
Ameren Illinois Utilities spokesman Leigh Morris said the outage occurred at 6:07 a.m. today. Power was restored by about 8 a.m., he said.
