Seventeen firefighters respond to Champaign fire
The Champaign Fire Department was called to the 1700 block of Anita Drive, Champaign, on Wednesday after smoke was sighted emanating from a single-story house.
Arriving at the scene at about 4:45 p.m., the firefighters found a northeast room at 1733 Anita Drive was engulfed in flames and fire had gotten into the house's attic. They pulled the ceiling in order to fight the blaze.
