Police searching for man in attempted rape

CHAMPAIGN – Police are asking the public for help in finding a man they say was involved in an attempted rape near the University of Illinois campus.

About 3 a.m. Sunday, Champaign officers were dispatched to meet a 21-year-old woman regarding an attack in the 500 block of East Healey Street in Champaign. The woman reported that a man grabbed her and threatened to rape her, Champaign police spokeswoman Rene Dunn said.
