Local Steve & Barry's stores still open after bankruptcy filing

The Steve & Barry's stores in Champaign and Danville will remain open while the Port Washington, N.Y.-based sportswear chain decides what to do in order to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The chain, which operates 276 locations in 39 states, filed for bankruptcy protection Wednesday, the latest merchant to succumb to a harsh consumer spending climate.
