Paxton TIF district plan to be drafted
PAXTON – Officials looked at the boundaries of a proposed tax increment financing district Monday and agreed to a contract with Dan Schuering of Springfield for $25,000 to draw up the tax district.
Schuering said though nothing is final, the district will most likely include three separate parcels – the downtown area, the West Ottawa Road corridor, which is now a combination of residential and commercial property, and an area southeast of Interstate 57 where a new subdivision could be built.
