Champaign officials heading to Quad Cities to study housing
CHAMPAIGN – Road trip! OK, maybe field trip is more accurate, but that's what four city council members and eight city staff members are doing Thursday. They're taking a trip to the Quad Cities to learn more about how the cities of Moline and Rock Island have dealt with the issue of downtown housing.
City officials say such day trips are a fun and low-cost way to learn how other cities are dealing with issues similar to those facing Champaign, as well as a way to build camaraderie.
