Death of person in custody under investigation
RANTOUL – The Champaign County Serious Use of Force Team is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a person who died while in police custody Friday night.
At 7:40 p.m. Friday, the Rantoul Police Department responded to a call about a fight between two people in the 1100 block of Bel Air Drive, according to a news release issued by Rantoul Chief of Police Paul Farber on Saturday.
