Danville college looking at bonds for computer upgrades
DANVILLE – Danville Area Community College officials are considering issuing about $1 million in technology bonds to make improvements to computer labs across campus.
"All of our computer labs need upgrades," President Alice Jacobs said, adding the technology is integral to nearly every academic program. "We used to be able to upgrade them on a consistent basis. But since the state eliminated the advanced-technology-grant funding several years ago, we haven't been able to do that at an appropriate level. Consequently, we've fallen behind in providing the technology that our students expect."
