Woman admits helping boyfriend rob Busey Bank in Rantoul
URBANA – An 18-year-old Rantoul woman who admitted participating in the holdup of a Rantoul bank with her boyfriend faces two-and-a-half to six years in prison when sentenced in October.
Krystal Brown of the 400 block of Marco Drive pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Urbana to aggravated bank robbery. She admitted to Judge Michael McCuskey that on Sept. 28, 2007, she drove Ahkeem Thomas, 20, to the Busey Bank at 200 E. Sangamon Ave., where he used a plastic toy assault rifle to rob the bank of $10,300.
