Urbana teen taken to hospital after trying to put out blaze
URBANA – A 13-year-old Urbana boy who tried to put out a kitchen fire in Urbana on Wednesday was taken to a local hospital to be checked for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters were called to the Prairie Green Apartments in southeast Urbana at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday, according to Urbana fire Division Chief Rusty Chism. When they arrived, there was a lot of smoke, but the fire was quickly extinguished, he said.
