Prosecutor: Smith admitted drinking three beers
URBANA – University of Illinois basketball player Jamar Smith admitted to police that he drank three beers, according to a prosecutor. But Smith's lawyer denied the accusation on Wednesday.
Smith, 21, turned himself in on a warrant, posted bond and was released Tuesday. Earlier that day, the Champaign County state's attorney's office filed a petition to revoke Smith's probation and obtained the warrant for his arrest, with bond set at $25,000.
