Mahomet teen pleads guilty in van-tanker accident
URBANA – A Mahomet teen who turned in front of a truck driver in west Champaign in December, resulting in serious injury to the truck driver and a massive gasoline spill, was sentenced to a year of conditional discharge Tuesday.
Lab tests on Erin Ruprecht, 18, that came back months after the Dec. 26, 2007, accident showed that she had cannabis byproducts in her system which indicated she had smoked marijuana some time before the accident.
