TUSCOLA – The Douglas County Board has voted to raise the dog registration fee from $8 to $9, and approved a $10 fee to be added to each dog registration to establish a pet population control fund.

The pet population control fund, mandated by the state, enables any county resident who receives food stamps to receive a waiver to have their animal spayed or neutered at a discounted cost, said board member Kathy Rhodes.
