Budget cuts to close local state parks, historic sites
CHAMPAIGN – Several area state historic sites and parks are soon set to close, Gov. Rod Blagojevich's office announced Thursday.
The closures are the result of a $2 billion state budget shortfall, said Kelley Quinn, a spokeswoman from the governor's office.
