Champaign's Garden Hills neighborhood celebrating 50 years
CHAMPAIGN – Robert and Inez Goddard and their two young daughters were among the first five families to move into the Garden Hills neighborhood in northwest Champaign, back in December 1954.
At that time, the subdivision's roads were still gravel and the homes were on septic systems.
