UI trustees will gather info to plot future of Willard Airport
URBANA – The University of Illinois is weighing its options for the future of Willard Airport, including the possibility of creating an airport authority to run it.
In an "unstable" industry with high fuel costs, rising fares and fees and airline bankruptcies, "we've sustained our ability to survive at this point," said Mike Bass, UI associate vice president for capital programs and real estate services. "But no one knows what the future will bring," he said.
