Retired detective's old-school technique leads to arrest
URBANA – Advanced DNA technology may have linked a rape in Florida to three in Champaign and Urbana, but it was old-fashioned detective work by a veteran Urbana police officer that found the suspect.
And John Lockard did it using one of the oldest resources known to detectives: a phone book.
