Armory's redesign is ahead of schedule
URBANA – There's a new $16 million Armory in store for Urbana, one that will respect its Depression-era architectural style.
Lt. Col. Randy Scott of the Illinois Army National Guard said the Armory will be rehabbed in about a year to update it and make it safer against potential terrorist attack.
"We just had our meeting yesterday with the Capital Development Board. We'll be advertising for an architect immediately," he said.
