Six area agencies to get Emergency Shelter Program grants
Six Champaign-Urbana organizations will get a total of $166,206 in emergency shelter grants released Friday by Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
The money – provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by the state – will fund emergency housing and support services for homeless individuals. Statewide, $2.5 million was awarded to 81 organizations providing emergency homeless services.
