Champaign considers updates to snow-removal ordinance
CHAMPAIGN – City officials want to tighten enforcement of Champaign's one-year-old sidewalk-snow-removal ordinance, which applies to the downtown and campus areas.
The city council Tuesday will consider a proposal from its staff asking that the 48-hour notice to remove snow on sidewalks be allowed to keep ticking over weekends, though city enforcement wouldn't take place then.
