Attendance figures continue to fluctuate among area schools
St. Joseph School Superintendent Todd Pence frequently holds the door to greet students arriving for class.
These days Pence has a lot more boys and girls to welcome.
Five years ago the St. Joseph elementary school district had 739 students. This fall the district has 899 – 160 students more.
St. Joseph is one of several area school districts that have grown since 2003.
