Veterans honored at Arcola High School

ARCOLA – Vietnam Air Force Veteran Bob Lee fought back tears as he received a handwritten thank- you note from an Arcola elementary school student on Monday morning.

"When we came back from 'Nam, we didn't get any hero's parade or any thanks," Lee said. "The general public didn't want us over there, and there was a lot of protesting.
