Georgetown seeking 5 percent increase in tax revenue
GEORGETOWN – City officials approved a $139,200 tax levy for the 2008-09 fiscal year on Monday, an increase of about 5 percent.
Alderman Lee Reinier said that the council usually seeks about a 5 percent increase in local property taxes each year. The current tax levy is $132,700.
