Danville alderman seeking staff cuts to help balance budget
DANVILLE – Alderman Steve Foster does not want to increase the city's property tax levy next year. The Ward 7 alderman prefers making significant cuts in personnel, including the fire and police departments, and maintains that those departments are the most expensive.
Foster presented to the city's public services committee Tuesday night a breakdown of how much salaries and benefits cost the city and focused on three categories, the fire department, police department and all other employees.
