Proposed Danville budget cuts targeting non-union jobs
DANVILLE – Mayor Scott Eisenhauer told aldermen Tuesday night that he has cut more than $960,000 in expenses from next year's preliminary budget, and that those cuts include the elimination of some non-union personnel.
But even with those cuts, the city would still face a $660,000 budget deficit if the council raises the property tax levy, and a $1.1 million deficit if the council keeps the levy at the same level as this year.
