Hearing set for former coach accused of taping UI gymnast

URBANA – A pretrial hearing is scheduled in February for a former University of Illinois gymnastics coach accused of videotaping a gymnast in a locker room on campus without the man's knowledge.

Jon Valdez, 40, of the 1900 block of Newport Drive, Urbana, was arraigned Friday on a felony charge of unauthorized videotaping.
