Drug-court graduate campaigning against crack cocaine
URBANA – It may not have seemed like it at the time, but Dec. 22, 2006, was a great day for Wayne T. Jackson.
A diabetic who was too winded to run after snatching a woman's purse in downtown Champaign, he was easily busted.
"It was the ultimate crack-addict move. There was no chance for success but I'm not thinking of that. I'm just thinking of the next hit. I was very relieved to be stopped by the police and taken to jail," the 43-year-old Rantoul man said.
