DACC workshops to help organizations go green

DANVILLE – Danville Area Community College, in partnership with the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center, is providing a series of workshops on organizations becoming more "green."

The workshops will teach participants how to protect the environment and save money. The center is in the process of attaining continuing education units for these workshops, which will be open to large and small businesses, organizations, municipalities and others.

Sessions will be from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday and April 1 in Room 141, Bremer Conference Center, on campus, 2000 E. Main St. A $199 fee includes both sessions.

The first session is a practical introduction to industrial energy efficiency. Attendees are asked to take a year's worth of workplace utility bills.

In the second session, participants will learn to analyze energy use scenarios to determine the technical and economic feasibility of implementing specific energy efficiency practices.
