140 Danville Walgreen's workers offered retirement and severance packages
DANVILLE – About 140 salaried workers at the Walgreen's accounting office in Danville have about two weeks to consider the voluntary retirement and severance packages they have been offered as part of a company initiative to cut 1,000 jobs and "rewire for growth."
Michael Polzin, spokesman for Walgreen Co., said once the two-week consideration period is over, the company will evaluate the numbers and decide in February about whether involuntary reductions are necessary.
